After graduating with a BBA degree in accounting from Angelo State University in 1972, Mr. Bonner passed the enrolled agents written examination administered by the US Department of Treasury in 1979 and the CPA exam administered by the Texas State Board of Accountancy in 1980. He opened his own accounting firm in 1978 and is licensed to represent clients before Internal Revenue Service and other agencies.

Mr. Bonner has continually believed the very best way to learn the "do's and don'ts" of representing clients and protecting their rights against IRS is to have worked for IRS in a technical position where he was required to learn both the law and the IRS methods used to apply the law and related procedures. Accordingly, prior to establishing his own CPA firm, Mr. Bonner spent nearly five years as an Internal Revenue Agent interpreting and applying the Federal Tax Code in an independent fair manner when performing field audit examinations and other assigned duties.
